Lomu Legacy International U18 Sevens

For many years, there have been public conversations surrounding Jonah’s legacy, his estate, and the use of his name. At times, those conversations have not reflected the full picture, nor the journey our family has walked behind the scenes.

What has always mattered most to me is not conflict, but protecting the name, values, and legacy of the man we love, and ensuring that Jonah’s story continues in a way that uplifts others while sharing the love he had for us as his family.

Alongside our sons, Dhyreille and Brayley, I have remained committed to carrying Jonah’s legacy forward with dignity, purpose, and integrity - all part of a promise.

Through perseverance, faith, and an unwavering belief in doing what is right by Jonah, we now look ahead with excitement and renewed strength.

Today, I am also grateful to reiterate that the estate matters are resolved, with all trademark ownership, rights, and usage resting under my sole ownership, in accordance with Jonah’s wishes and the legacy he intended for our family.

Today, I am proud to share the announcement of the Jonah Lomu Legacy International U18’s Tournament - a platform created to inspire the next generation, open doors for young talent, and unite communities through the power of sport.

This tournament will proudly stand as the signature event of The Jonah Lomu Foundation, reflecting our family’s commitment to empowering youth, supporting communities, and creating lasting pathways for future generations.

This tournament is about far more than rugby. It is about opportunity, leadership, culture, and creating pathways for young people to believe in themselves and their future.

It is also deeply important to us that this platform helps elevate Pasifika and Māori voices - ensuring our people, our stories, our identity, and our strength are seen, heard, and celebrated on the world stage.

Jonah always believed in people. He believed in giving back, in lifting others, and in using influence to make a difference. That spirit sits at the heart of everything we stand for as a family and have been building together.

From Dhyreille, Brayley and myself, we thank all those who are part of the team making this possible, those who have supported us, stood by us, and believed in our reason especially each time I have taken a bold stance against the grain.

The best way to honour Jonah is not by looking backwards, but by creating something meaningful as we push forward together.

Jonah’s legacy lives on, not only in memory, but in a movement of love in action.

With aroha, respect, and deepest gratitude.

The Lomu Family. 💞
